Its with deep sorrow that I received the news of the death of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth. I believe my study at the University of Surrey was successful because of the calm atmosphere during here reign. May her good and motherly example live long for generations to behold. Good bye Her majesty.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a beacon of wisdom and principled leadership for seven decades. I had the privilege to meet her in 1992 and 1998 when she visited the University of Surrey. I was invited to help serve her lunch and of course a glass of gin and dubonnet. What an honour that indeed was and at the end of lunch we lined up to be thanked graciously by her Majesty and her lovely smile.

The late HM Queen Elizabeth II has been a constant in my life, and was already reigning when I was born in 1956. She has been an exemplary beacon, and I am humbly appreciative of her many achievements. The UK has been blessed by her reign, and remains one of the things that makes me proud to be British. I would like to pass my condolences to the Royal Family, and hope they can all find it in their hearts to follow closely her example.

Thankyou to the inspirational woman who was our Queen Elizabeth. I was lucky enough to meet you and Prince Philip on 3 Nov 2006 in Crawley when you came to the school I had already taught at for 31 years and was the longest serving teacher at the time. My respect for the job you have done for 70 years and the dignity and loyalty with which you carried it out continues to inspire me. My late mum who lived near Guildford until a few months ago would want me to thank you too. Goodbye our Queen and RIP
