On behalf of my family in Australia I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on this sad occasion. I cherish the memories of my time in Guildford at the University of Surrey in the mid-1990s as a Rotary Ambassadorial Fellow, and it means a great deal to know that the Royal Family has encouraged UoS in various ways. As I grieve, I also celebrate the remarkable life of Her Majesty and all she achieved. She is, was, and always will be an inspiration -- the best of humanity. Vale, Queen Elizabeth II.

Alexandra Vouzouneraki from Ierapetra, Crete, Greece
I lived in the UK for many years but I never had the privilege to meet the Queen in person. And I was never interested in politics or cared about the newspaper gossips. However, my impression is that she has been a kind, just, decent, respected and admirable queen. And that she has also been a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We are all sad for her loss. And we will all miss her. Because, actually, in her face, we can all see, in a way, our own beloved family member passing away. Personally, her figure, always reminded me of the figure of my own beloved grandmother. She was the person I loved the most. She had given me so much love bringing me up. But unfortunately she passed away about 2 years ago. The death of the Queen is a change of an era: There will be no other queen like Elizabeth the 2nd. She was kind, charismatic, inspirational and admirable. And she worked hard to bring positive changes to her country and to the commonwealth countries. Can the future kings/queens ever surpass her legacy? The King above all kings, our Lord, blessed her to live a very long, full and extraordinary life. And he has now taken her from this world and from this temporary life. May our merciful and forgiving Lord give peace and rest to her immortal soul, in heaven. And may the Queen of the heavens be with her. May our compassionate Lord give the strength and the courage to her family to overcome her loss. May our powerful Lord bless and enlighten the new King, to rule his kingdom with justice, truth, righteousness and lenity, protecting the innocent, feeding the hungry, helping the poor and disadvantaged and teaching His name. And may our Lord glorify him.

My heart is full of sadness, but I will continue to pray for you.
