All are welcome to join us for our Free Family Events that run throughout the year.
Christingle Service – Sunday 2nd February 3.30-4.30
Join us in the cathedral for our Christingle service, with songs, stories, craft, refreshments and of course Christingles. This is an informal, all-age service as we join together to remember Jesus, the Light of the World. It’s the perfect service for all generations to enjoy worshipping together so bring your grandparents along!
Cathedral Tots
Our informal service for toddlers and pre-schoolers takes place on the first Wednesday of each month at 10.00am. Each session of Cathedral Tots includes toys, songs, a Bible story, prayer, craft and refreshments. Cathedral Tots is a free activity, with a welcoming and relaxed community of parents/carers and young children. There is currently no requirement to book places for these services. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
5th Feb - God's big story: The wrecked roof
5th March - God's big story: Walking on water
2nd April - God's big story: Feeding the 5000
Sunday School – normally on the 2nd Sunday of the month in term time (check first)
For ages 3-11, during the Sunday morning Eucharist, in the Library. There is also a self-service creche for younger children in the Baptistry.

Family Fun Day – Wednesday 19 February 10am-12.30pm
Come and explore ‘high and low’ in the Cathedral, enjoy a reflective storytelling session about special places and create your own artwork inspired by what you've seen and heard.

A firm favourite for families, our fun-filled days become fully booked very quickly. In 2024, we welcomed over 550 children to our Fun Days and we’d love to welcome even more in 2025. A donation of just £1.49 will pay for a child's craft bag, £4.50 will cover the costs of a family of three children plus a parent or carer. Just £90 would pay for a whole session of 60 children. When you book your child’s session, please consider making a gift of any size to help us achieve our goal.
